Contrast Injectors, Hemodynamic and Intracardiac Systems

CCL 110 delves into the technical aspects of specialized equipment used in cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology. The curriculum covers the functional architecture, calibration, and routine maintenance of power contrast delivery systems, emphasizing safe operation and accurate fluid delivery. Students will gain proficiency in the setup, operation, and verification of hemodynamic recording consoles and associated pressure transducers, understanding signal acquisition and interpretation. The course also explores the principles and applications of intracardiac ultrasound technology, including its components, image acquisition, and common issues. Through theoretical instruction and hands-on laboratory exercises, technicians will develop the competencies required to support these vital systems in a clinical environment, ensuring patient safety and equipment reliability. Emphasis is placed on vendor-neutral service practices and adherence to industry standards.
